Marine Winch Calculation - Some help if possible

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me on force analysis on a foundation for a marine winch?
Pull is 50 tonnes
Height from surface to drum centre is 1.1m
Max pull distance from LHS is 0.67m
Max Pull distance from RHS is 0.454m

I have my own method done out for this but it is fairly long winded so I was wondering if anyone could help out a bit?

Are you looking for reaction forces at the base to determine foundation fixing sizes, or to determine loads in the frame? Can you send a sketch?
 
I am actually looking for both!!
Unfortunately I cannot upload anything as I have a confidentiality agreement with the company I work for and all of it is proprietary
Basically what I have is just an inverted 'T' with the centre of the drum at the very top.
Then if you imagine along the depth of the'T' as the other distances mentioned above.

Well based on your info, I got the following. The pink arrow shows your 50 tonne force and the figures the reaction forces calculated at the points of support at the corners of the base. Without details of the structure it's a bit difficult to give you more! If you would like more detailed calcs, I can do this on a professional basis (under confidentiality agreement as required). I hope this doesn't contravene forum rules!

I can't believe I didn't think of modelling this up..... I just like to keep calculations in my head.....

I take it you managed to see the picture then? For some reason I can't see it on my own machine!
 
Yes what I did was

right click icon >> open link in new tab and it opened with flikr!

You hardly know the calculation for this to keep as a reference do you?
 
OK I can't do that (open link menu item is greyed out) but as long as you got it, no problem.

I don't have any documentation of the calculation itself since it was a finite element analysis. I'll keep the model in case you want to run it again. It only took me about 10 minutes to set up.
