Hello,
I am currently in the process of designing and small scale production of a foam wound dressing. I have attached pictures for clarity. The issue has been the silicone. The medical grade silicone must be thin and perforated to allow exudate from the wound to flow into the foam. The purpose of the silicone is for non-adherence to the wound.
What is the best way to manufacture the thin silicone layers? I have currently been doing it by making use of a 3D printed mold. Is there a better way?
Also what is the best way to "glue" the silicone layer to the foam? I have to use the least amount of materials as possible since it does complicated EU/FDA compliance audits.
Any help or guidance towards the correct resources will be much appreciated.
